The key role of the Support Worker is to provide support to the participants, promoting choice and control and assisting participants in achieving their personal goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality support to participants who range in levels of need.
  2. Adhere to service agreement requirements of the funded package & meet deadlines.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal staff and external agencies.
  4. Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  5. Able to work independently within the community or the participant's home, reporting after each shift using vWorker App or any other means as advised by the Employer.
  6. Support participants to achieve positive outcomes of their personal goals as stated within their NDIS plan.
  7. Participate in corporate and community events.
  8. Other tasks as requested by the manager.

Pre-Requisites:

  1. Cert III or above in community services or individual support; extensive experience in providing high-quality support to individuals with additional needs or similar.
  2. Ability to transport participants to a range of different services and appointments.
  3. Ability to support participants with capacity building, assisting participants in achieving their personal goals as stated within their NDIS plan.
  4. Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands.
  5. Strong knowledge of participants' needs across the lifespan and cultural considerations.
  6. High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to consult and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work with people to overcome complex situations and problems.
  8. Ability to work autonomously to complete tasks within set timeframes.
  9. Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviors.
  10. Demonstrated commitment to quality customer/client services and continuous improvement strategies.
  11. Demonstrated experience in the provision of culturally appropriate and sensitive services to people of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
  12. Current Driver's License (for roles requiring participants' transport).
  13. Willing to transport participants in your own car.
  14. Willing to use your personal phone to report case notes and receive shift notifications using Employer's vWorker App.
  15. Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or the ability to obtain one.
  16. Rights to work in Australia.
