Portfolio Performance Lead

We're on a mission to bring new and uplifting experiences to our guests, transforming flying from simply 'nice', to something wonderful.
Like any good mission, this one starts with our people.
Which is why we encourage our team to embody the fun, laid back, authentic spirit we've become famous for. Because when they're free to be themselves, they're better able to own their personal responsibilities and go the extra mile to help our guests.
Job OverviewWork type:Full-Time (Permanent)
Location:Sydney
Job type:Consulting & Strategy, Velocity Frequent Flyer
Velocity is all about smart, simple, and speedy rewards. As part of our vibrant team, you'll help deliver unforgettable value to millions of Australians — all while enjoying the perks of working for one of the country's most loved travel brands.
As Portfolio Performance Lead, you'll be embedded within one or more of our Tribes and Centres of Expertise (COEs), where you'll play a key role in aligning delivery roadmaps to strategic priorities, tracking progress against OKRs, and identifying opportunities to enhance performance and ways of working.
In this position, you will work side-by-side with Tribe and COE leaders, as well as the Strategy & Transformation team and Divisional Performance Lead, to align planning and execution across both short- and long-term priorities.
Please note, the level of this role is well suited to someone with 3-6 years professional experience. It sits one level below a Manager level role in our grading system. The position does not have any direct reports.
In addition, you will:
- Drive alignment between planning and delivery by coordinating portfolio roadmaps with the broader Velocity strategy.
- Define and continuously improve ways of working across the portfolio and key interfaces, ensuring consistency with divisional frameworks.
- Facilitate key Agile ceremonies including portfolio planning sessions, stand-ups, and retrospectives to maintain momentum, focus, and accountability.
- Support prioritisation of initiatives to ensure delivery is aligned with mission-level goals and value creation.
- Maintain visibility of the portfolio's book of work using tools such as JIRA, and coordinate synchronisation with other Tribes and COEs.
- Proactively identify risks, roadblocks or delivery challenges, and lead resolution efforts to keep initiatives on track.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, leading performance initiatives that enhance how teams work and deliver outcomes.
You'll be great in this role if you:
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in business or a related field, and ideally bring Agile certification.
- Have 3–5 years of experience in performance-oriented roles such as project delivery, consulting, business analysis, or stakeholder management.
- Are confident working with senior leaders to influence decisions and drive delivery against ambitious OKRs.
- Have a track record of building strong relationships and delivering change in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Bring experience in either the airline or loyalty industries, or have a strong background in partnerships, marketingormanagementconsulting.
- A commercial mindset and a structured approach to solving business challenges
- Strong communication skills and the ability to break down initiatives using tools like JIRA.
- Structured thinker with a sharp eye for detail, sound financial acumen, and an analytical, data-driven approach.
