OverviewWe are seeking two new Commercial Portfolio Managers to join our Bulk Customer and Growth team, as key customer contacts. We have a growth strategy for our Bulk haulage and Containerised Freight businesses, building on the solid platform of traditional businesses by investing in strategic assets. You will support our customer portfolio of operations spanning rail, road and port logistics to deliver strong commercial outcomes.
Within your portfolio, you will partner with major customers, as you develop and leverage your networks to optimise current revenue contracts, whilst also driving business growth through identifying and securing new opportunities.
Key responsibilities- Build and maintain excellent relationships across your portfolio of customers and all functions in Aurizon to optimise the flow of customer information.
- Be the expert for all customer intelligence within the portfolio, including identifying and facilitating potential future business growth opportunities or decline risks, and developing long-term strategic solutions to manage these.
- Support the design and development of customer proposals, tender responses and business cases within your portfolio. This will involve working cross-functionally with Operations, Legal and Finance, and managing internal approval processes with Senior Executives.
- Support commercial negotiations and contracting processes with customers, with a focus on renewing current contracts prior to expiry. The ability to foresee how a contractual and pricing mechanism may drive behaviours, and what outcome that may create for Aurizon and the customer, is key.
- Develop and maintain active key account management planning for each customer in the portfolio.
- Deliver the performance requirements of each contract within the customer portfolio through the contract performance process, including managing issues that may arise with your customers, to the satisfaction of the customer and internal stakeholders.
As an energetic and passionate commercial specialist, you will be driven to deliver customer outcomes that create value across our diverse customer portfolio. You are agile and flexible in how you operate with the confidence to network with both internal and external stakeholders. Those applicants with a background in operations, logistics, strategy and/or commercial sectors are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Minimum 3+ years in a similar role and background.
- Strong commercial experience, with logistics background preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written communication skills.
- University qualified in Economics, Finance, Commerce, Engineering or related discipline
- High level skills in the identification, specification and delivery of customer service in a large commercial organisation.
- Knowledge of transport and logistic operations, and commercial activities within a large and diverse organisation.
- Solid understanding of financial analysis and business strategy, with the ability to make data-based decisions.
