We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate 2IC at Concord Specialist School to co-lead the OSHC program in a specialist school setting. This role is a key part of the Victorian Government's High Intensity OSHC initiative (find out more at: High Intensity Outside School Hours Care Initiative for students with disabilities | vic.gov.au). The service is fully funded by the Victorian Government and operates at a high staff to child ratios to appropriately meet the needs of each participant (approximately 1 educator for every 2 children).

If you are experienced in the early childhood, OSHC and/or disability support sectors and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families, this role is for you.

The Role

This role is full time - 38 hours a week - 10.00am - 6.06pm during term time where the role is a combination of administration hours and in service hours.

• Co-lead, train and guide in best practice to deliver the highest quality care for every child in care
• Plan and prepare child focused programs for school aged children in a specialist school setting
• Contribute to compliance such as the Quality Improvement Plan etc
• High staff to student ratio to ensure every child's individual needs are met (1:2, 1:1, 2:1)
• Provide children with the opportunity to explore, learn, and play and have fun
• Maintain a safe environment for all children, families, and staff
• Extensive training and onboarding with ongoing support

Skills And Experience

• Experience with training, coaching and management of a large team
• Experience and confidence in the disability support and childcare sector
• High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
• Experience and confidence in behavioural management of high needs children
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

• Employee Working with Children Check or VIT card
• First Aid + CPR Certificate
• Child Protection Training / Mandatory Reporting
• Be actively working towards or have completed an ACECQA approved Diploma level qualification
