This role exists within the Chief Data Office BI & Visualisation team. The team supports a wide range of reporting and data solutions across multiple brands within Westpac Group. As a Senior Data Analyst / Developer, you will manage BAU and change activities for Risk & Compliance Management BI solutions on SAS, Microsoft BI Stack, Tableau, and Teradata.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting processes and systems for detecting and reporting compliance breaches, conduct risks, SOX controls, responsible lending, and sales quality.
  • Managing senior stakeholders across various departments and projects.
  • Handling multiple service desks, project deliverables, and stakeholder expectations to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Ensuring the availability, accuracy, and performance of reporting and data solutions.
  • Meeting governance standards for regular reporting, including documentation, visualisation, functionality, SLAs, and production efficiencies.
  • Identifying and delivering new information solutions or enhancements, providing scoping, sizing, and timelines.
  • Focusing on continuous improvement and efficiency through automation and decommissioning.
  • Providing timely and accurate information on request.
  • Adhering to change management protocols, technology governance, and workflow management requirements.
  • Supporting senior managers and establishing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Managing pipelines and prioritisation discussions, assessing work requests, and negotiating realistic timeframes.
  • Fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement with a One Team approach.
  • Acting as an ambassador for the group, business unit, and Analytics profession.

What do I need?

  • Extensive commercial experience in designing and developing complex reporting and data solutions using SAS, Teradata, MS SQL, SSIS, Tableau, and Power BI, preferably in a risk/compliance domain.
  • Significant commercial experience in technology change and support.
  • Considerable commercial experience in an analytical or solution design role.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in Agile methodology.
  • Experience with JIRA and ServiceNow is an added advantage.
  • Experience in the banking or finance sector is an added advantage.
