You're someone who's passionate about animals and enjoys connecting with people in the community. Whether it's chatting with pet owners at the park, running an education session at a school or at night time, or helping someone understand their responsibilities as a pet owner, you enjoy making a positive impact. You're a clear communicator, approachable, and comfortable talking to people of all ages and backgrounds.
You've got a good understanding of the companion animals act and what it takes to help companion animals and people live happily and safely together. Maybe you've worked in an animal care, education, or community role before — or maybe you just have the right mix of knowledge, common sense, and people skills to get the job done. You're calm around animals, confident in dealing with tricky questions, and happy to roll up your sleeves to help out wherever needed.
Most importantly, you're organised, friendly, and genuinely care about making a difference. You're happy to work flexible hours to attend community events or pop-ups, and you enjoy being part of a supportive team that's focused on improving outcomes for companion animals and their owners. Part of the role may result in taking some enforcement action, but it is mainly based around education.
