This role will work a 5/2 roster from the Sydney office with 2 days WFH option available

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead – Financial & Capital Accounting to join our Group Finance team. This pivotal role will lead a newly established team responsible for delivering high-quality financial and capital accounting services across Evolution Mining's group and site operations.

You'll be instrumental in centralising site accounting activities, managing enterprise capital systems, and driving continuous improvement and standardisation across financial processes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a team of financial and payroll accountants, with scope for future expansion
• Overseeing month-end processes, financial journals, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations
• Designing and managing capital accounting systems including WBS structures and fixed asset registers
• Driving standardisation, optimisation, and continuous improvement across group-wide finance operations

This is a unique opportunity to shape a growing function, lead through change, and make a lasting impact in a collaborative and evolving environment.

You're a qualified accounting professional (CPA or CA) with at least 10 years' experience in financial accounting and analysis—ideally with a background in Big 4 or mining. You bring proven leadership experience, especially in managing teams through change, and have a strong grasp of month-end close processes and capital accounting.

You'll thrive in this role if you have:

• Strong technical accounting skills and experience with ERP systems (e.g., Pronto)
• A track record of leading teams and delivering results in dynamic, evolving environments
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all levels
• A continuous improvement mindset and ability to drive innovation and efficiency
