Facilities Specialist – Secure Data Centres & Government Programs

Location: Canberra, ACT

Security Clearance: NV1 required (ability to upgrade to NV2 preferred)

Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site supporting Government clients. Flexible/hybrid arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Overview

Jigsaw Notions is seeking an experienced Facilities Specialist to join our consulting team, supporting secure data centre environments and critical infrastructure projects for Government programs.

This role combines facilities design, planning, and operations management, providing oversight of secure workplace infrastructure while shaping long-term capability and performance outcomes. You'll work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership to deliver results that support some of Australia's most critical national programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate facilities design, planning, and operations across multiple sites
  • Provide reporting and insights to senior leadership on facilities performance, risks, and budgets
  • Design and document workplace layouts, rack designs, cabling systems, and supporting infrastructure
  • Supervise installation, maintenance, and upgrades of facilities and data centre systems
  • Develop and maintain high-quality compliance artefacts, procedures, and operational documentation
  • Manage vendors and contractors to ensure quality and timely service delivery
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align facilities outcomes with program objectives
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in facilities design and management for data centres, secure environments, or critical infrastructure
  • Knowledge of physical and electronic security systems
  • Strong background in cabling design, rack layouts, and data centre monitoring/DCIM tools
  • Experience preparing and maintaining facilities and infrastructure documentation
  • Proven vendor and contractor management capabilities
  • Excellent project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
Highly Desirable Skills
  • Experience leading facilities or infrastructure projects
  • Previous exposure to secure or highly regulated environments (Defence, banking, utilities, healthcare, etc.)
  • 5+ years' experience in facilities, workplace accommodation, or infrastructure management
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools, data centre power systems, and asset lifecycle management

Security Clearance

An active NV1 security clearance is mandatory for this role, with the ability to upgrade to NV2 preferred.
