The Division of Aged, General Medicine and Subacute Services (AGMS) has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated registered nurse ready to step into a dynamic leadership role.
Our GC Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit is a specialised 30 bed ward that plays a vital role in providing high-quality care in a supportive and dynamic environment to optimise the functioning and independence of older people after an acute hospital stay.Located within GC GEM is a 6 bed Dementia Management Unit that aims to provide a specialist treatment program for older people living with the behaviours and psychological symptoms of Dementia.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced nurse with a passion and strong commitment for caring for older people to lead our team. This is a rare leadership opportunity to inspire and manage a dedicated group of healthcare professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and excellence in patient care.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to design the DMU Model of Care, a key strategic priority for the AGMS division, be involved in various Western Health committees, and be supported to undertake leadership development that align with your career goals.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and operational management of the GC GEM team
- Ensure exceptional, patient-focused care
- Promote a positive team culture and demonstrate collaborative practice as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
- Oversee staffing, resources, and budget management to maintain efficient and effective operations.
- Champion continuous improvement and policy compliance
- Hold NMBA and AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
