The Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager, based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, to join our global New Business team. Reporting to the Global Business Development Manager, you will be part of a newly formed team responsible for identifying and securing global new business. This is a highly collaborative role requiring an excellent communicator to liaise both internally and externally to drive client success and business growth. With customer service as your ethos, you will be responsible for developing prospect pursuit strategies and client engagement plans, supporting our Proposal teams, while nurturing existing key client relationships and ensuring we consistently deliver winning solutions to our clients primarily in Australasia but occasionally in other regions of the globe. Business Development Strategy & Relationship Management

  • Contribute to the development and continual improvement of the New Business Strategy by conducting competitive analysis, leveraging client insights and collaborating with the New Business team and related stakeholders through the application of clear goal statements, growth targets and action plans including accountability for performance
    • Develop and implement a Relationship Management approach, engaging the broader business teams, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships and managing client relationships across the Australasia region leading to new business opportunities.
      • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking activities to promote Mining Plus's services.
        • Maintain a client and leads/opportunities database.

New Business Team Collaboration

  • Contribute to the identification and development of new value-add services supported by sound business plans.
    • Support the New Business team in delivering strategic, tactical, and operational pursuit initiatives to best position the Proposal Development teams to achieve the business financial targets based on the approved prospect pipeline
      • Assist the Proposal Development teams in developing successful bid proposals ensuring client needs are met and or exceeded at optimal cost.

Global Collaboration and Mentoring

  • Work closely with internal teams, including technical experts, project managers, and marketing, to ensure the successful delivery of client projects and proposals.
    • Provide feedback, identify development opportunities and provide mentoring on business development skills to other team members and business unit leaders.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Experience: 10+ years' experience in business development with a strong understanding of the Australasian mining industry and technical mining services with exposure to mine cost estimating an advantage but not essential.
    • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with fellow team members, business associates and clients.
      • Technical Background: A technical engineering background is highly regarded but not essential. Similarly for any career exposure to mine infrastructure concept-level design and or construction. Experience working with CRM and prospect management database tool(s) is desirable and preparedness to do so in an outcomes driven environment is mandatory.
        • Client-centric: Proven track record in developing new client engagement plans leading to and maintaining long-term client relationships, with an emphasis on client advocacy and balancing client-business needs.
        • Outcomes driven: Proven track record of a)achieving business growth targets through developing a sustainable, but flexible prospect pipeline approach while implementing sound pursuit strategies which set up the Proposals Development team for success; and b) in exceeding client expectations.
