About the role

Altrad is looking for a Senior CA to join our Brisbane team on a fixed-term basis, with potential for permanent placement. This role offers opportunities in project management and pre-contracts. As part of our commercial team, you'll lead contractual and commercial operations, including tender negotiations and strategic pre-contract initiatives. Your expertise will drive project success and foster strong client relationships, contributing to our continued growth and success.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Ensure tender contracts (with Clients and lower tier subcontractors) are reviewed and subsequently negotiated in line with the Group Contracting Rules, Delegation of Authority and good practice.
  • Provide a supportive and mentoring role to junior contracts, commercial and project personnel by sharing knowledge, mentoring and training experiences.
  • Work closely with bid teams to ensure the contract risks are captured and the commercial strategy is communicated to all.
  • Assist Projects by providing post-award kick-off meetings and handover of contract documentation together with early commercial support.
  • Keep abreast of governance and regulatory obligations, taking appropriate actions and supporting the implementation of preventive strategies.
  • Support Project Management teams in drafting contractual correspondence as required to ensure risk is managed in line with the Group Contracting Rules and the Delegation of Authority.
  • Work with the Commercial Manager, striving to prepare and defend contractual claims including extension of time, acceleration and disruption claims.
  • Proactively negotiate contracts through to contract execution.
  • Proactively interact and provide commercial and contractual support to business support functions as well as Operations personnel.
  • Review contract performance, including but not limited to applications for payment, variations, risks, claims, etc.
About you
  • 5+ years' experience in contract management.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in an appropriate quantity surveying, commerce, law, construction, engineering, or project management discipline.
  • Demonstrated capability in contract management within the resources / construction industry.
  • Strong leadership and seasoned people management skills.
