The Western Bulldogs Community Foundation is the club's community arm that utilises the trusted brand of our football club to deliver life changing programs. At its' core the Foundation delivers demonstrated impact in the areas of health and wellbeing, youth leadership, cultural diversity, social inclusion and community advocacy.
Across Melbourne and Victoria's west, we reach over 20,000 community members each year including direct capacity building for over 4,000 participants in our targeted programs. This critical work is underpinned by a whole of Club commitment that is strongly supported by all three levels of government and a range of corporate and community partners. Our programs are independently and academically evaluated to ensure we meet the ever-changing needs of our community, and we are always evolving our content and delivery methods to be best practice.

Responsibilities
The role of YES Youth Worker provides support to the Berry Street YES Project, building relationships with young people that are at risk of becoming involved with the justice system. The Yes Youth Worker position is Part Time Contract position. This role is also responsible for:
- YES Project
- WB Community Foundation Program Support (youth stream)
- Community Engagement and Wellbeing
- Administrative & Event Support
- Meet with young people and their families to learn about what interests the young person has and what barriers there are for engaging with these interests
- Facilitating Youth Leadership Project (YLP) program sessions across selected regional
- Engagement with local sporting clubs in regional Victoria areas (in collaboration with Campbell - WB Staff)
- Data entry and records management
- Spend multiple hours with a young person practicing a hobby, interest or sporting pursuit with the aim of building the young person's confidence
- Knowledge and experience in community development, social work, youth work, multicultural affairs, health promotion or other health-related area
- Demonstrated high level written, oral, and interpersonal skills (including public speaking, presentations and facilitation skills)
- Ability to understand the underlying causes behind this for example Trauma and Attachment effecting child development.
- The capacity to advocate, engage and negotiate with relevant stakeholders including family and school/educational networks where appropriate.
- Strong networks and an understanding of the local Ballarat community landscape, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities in Victoria's west, is desirable
- A Certificate level qualification in Youth Work or associated human service field is required

Successful candidates will be required to hold a valid working with children check and a satisfactory national criminal history check.
