Job Description

Point Care is dedicated to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities.

Position Summary:

  • Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients.
  • Provide respite care to clients and their families.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements
  • A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
  • Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Experience with complex client needs is recommended.
  • Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding the different support needs based on abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  • Basic care and first aid skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
