Hunter New England Local Health District is currently advertising for a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) in Urology to join the team at Manning Base Hospital, Taree.

The VMO will join the Urology department, working with a close-knit, supportive multidisciplinary team including general surgeons, allied health, nursing, pathology, oncology, and radiation oncology specialists.

With an ever-growing caseload and significant unmet demand, the VMO will have the opportunity to develop their surgical practice, reduce public waiting lists, and help shape the future of Urology services for the region.

The position involves a high clinical workload with opportunities to manage complex cases or refer to John Hunter Hospital as needed, access to modern equipment including laser technology for stone surgery, and the ability to build private practice alongside your public role with a balanced on-call roster and shared responsibilities.
