Legal Secretary | Banking & Finance

Are you an experienced Legal Secretary? Our client, a respected and well known law firm in Melbourne, seeking someone like you This is an excellent opportunity to join the banking and finance team, providing support to two esteemed partners.

We're looking for a proactive, highly organised Legal Secretary who thrives in managing multiple tasks and taking full ownership of daily responsibilities.

Note: This position is not intended for those pursuing a law degree as a pathway to becoming a lawyer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients and other important key stakeholders
  • Coordinating and assisting with high-level events and business development initiatives
  • Overseeing file management and matter opening
  • Organising correspondence & conflict searches
  • Managing calendars and scheduling appointments
  • Handling billing, time coding, and other important financial reporting

About you

  • 3+ years as a Legal Secretary
  • Previous experience in a similar role and practice area is an advantage
  • A desire to forge a career as a Legal Secretary
  • A team player who's focused on delivering excellent client service

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Exceptional organisational and time management abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • PEXA knowledge would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships, both internally and with clients
