Overview

Senior Family Services Practitioner role at Uniting Vic.Tas. Prahran, VIC. Permanent part-time position (60.8 hours per fortnight).

Salary: SCHADS Level 6 + super. Benefits include salary packaging and additional family services perks.

Responsibilities
  • Provide intensive case management support to families presenting with complex issues.
  • Undertake risk and needs assessments of children and families.
  • Develop client-focused Family Action Plans and Safety Plans.
  • Collaborate with Child Protection; support families to enhance parenting capacity, family functioning and child safety.
Your Skills and Experience
  • Current driver's licence valid in Victoria
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology or equivalent
  • Excellent understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (CYFA) as it affects family services, including the Best Interests framework, information sharing provisions and child protection system
  • Knowledge and extensive experience in child and family services and child protection systems
  • Knowledge of theoretical approaches relevant to working with infants, children, young people and families (e.g., attachment theory, trauma-informed practice, infant mental health)
