Overview

Our client believes that exceptional events start with exceptional support – and that includes finance. For over 30 years, they have delivered conferences across science, academia, and environmental industries, supported by a finance team that ensures accuracy, compliance, and confidence at every stage. Now, our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team. This is a broad and varied role, perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants exposure to both company and project-level finance.

About the Role

You'll support the Finance Director across AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, compliance, and reporting, while also assisting with project budgets and financial systems. You'll be a key part of the finance backbone that supports our projects and associations – and will have the chance to step into higher duties when required.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Process AP/AR and reconcile bank/credit card accounts
  • Maintain general ledger, journals, and assist with month/year-end
  • Support payroll, super, PAYG, leave, and commissions
  • Assist with BAS, FBT, ASIC compliance, and audits
  • Prepare financial reports and support project budgets
  • Maintain accurate records and help improve finance systems
What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance; CA/CPA (or in progress) preferred
  • 3+ years in a finance/accounting role
  • Strong skills in reconciliations, compliance, and accounting systems
  • High accuracy, independence, and attention to detail
