Overview

Teacher - English role at Department of Education, Western Australia, a permanent full-time position commencing Term 4, 2025.

The School

John Curtin College of the Arts (JCCA) is a leader in public education. Our college caters for 1,800 students from Years 7 to 12. The Role

The successful applicant should possess the professional knowledge, understandings, and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary school English curriculum and ideally have proven success working with very able students. You should be committed to developing curiosity, innovation, and imagination in every person through inspiring minds and learning for life.

Teachers with experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank ATAR English courses are encouraged to apply. Knowledge and/or experience teaching Gifted and Talented students is desirable. As a teacher at JCCA, you will ideally support the implementation of the college's Business Plan, be committed to whole college approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidence-based approach to teaching. Adopting inclusive practices, differentiating the curriculum and building positive relationships with students, staff and the community are important components of the role.

  • hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
