We have an exciting and rewarded support opportunity to share with you. Located in Wollongong you will be part of a 24/7 care team to support a non-verbal Male with an Acquired Brain Injury. You will provide full assistance with all ADL's as well as clinical support of the Ventilator, Tracheostomy & PEG. Due to the nature and complexity of the client's needs, you will need to have relevant disability experience. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.
Your Key Responsibilities
Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Personal Cares
- Pressure Area Care and Skin Integrity Support
- Enteral Feeding
- Suctioning
- Medication Administration
- Bowel Care Support
- Catheter Management
- Understanding & Management of Dysphagia
- Non-Invasive Ventilation Management
- Meal Preparation, Feeding Assistance and Management at Mealtimes
- Supporting in Pain Management
- Manual Handling Including Repositioning & Transfers
- General Household Tasks
- Community Participation
To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or above (Relevant care certificates may also be considered)
- Specific Disability / Complex Care Experience (Minimum 2 years experience)
- Manual Handling Certificate and experience (Essential)
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Current First aid and CPR
- Yellow Card/NDIS Worker's Screening Check
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Working with Children Check
