Overview

Chef: Permanent Full-Time position with flexible 14-day roster including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Shifts typically start around 4:30am and finish by 6:45pm, lasting about 7.5 to 8.5 hours per shift.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve nutritious and appealing meals for patients, staff, visitors, and function events at Joondalup Health Campus.
  • Collaborate with the catering team, Dietitians, and managers to meet dietary requirements and maintain food safety standards.
  • Ensure meals are served in appropriate portions, at correct temperatures, and in accordance with the Joondalup Health Campus Food Safety Program and Nutritional Guidelines.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Standards of Australia and New Zealand.
  • Meticulously measure ingredients to address specific dietary needs and maintain high hygiene in kitchen and prep areas.
  • Assist in procurement of food stock, ingredients, supplies and equipment.
About You

To excel, you should be a qualified chef with a genuine passion for culinary preparation and service. Ideally, you will have experience in a clinical environment or preparing food for medical patients. You should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced setting with strong time management and organisational skills to manage high-volume catering operations.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • A Trade Certificate in Catering/Chef.
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate or HACCP training (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated expertise as a chef in a large-scale food preparation setting.
  • Exceptional time management skills for high-demand catering operations.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality food services and maintaining stringent hygiene standards.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a chef, able to work independently across all sections.
  • Hospital or aged care experience is helpful but not essential.
Remuneration

Base hourly rate from $34.44 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Requirements
  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months.
