Health and Safety Advisor

  • Health and Safety Advisor role for a specialist infrastructure contractor, Frenchs Forest.

About the Company

A well-established infrastructure subcontractor, this business delivers a diverse portfolio of major projects across New South Wales. With a strong and growing pipeline of work, they are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support project delivery and uphold a consistent safety culture across all operations.

About the role

The Health and Safety Advisor will focus on strengthening safety practices by building strong relationships and trust with site teams, while working closely with management to drive continuous improvement. The role will suit a confident professional who can influence and implement change, while also taking a hands-on approach in the field to ensure safe, compliant, and collaborative project environments.

Duties

  • Developing and implementing HSEQ policies and management systems in line with project specific requirements, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
  • Creating tangible action plans to ensure clear steps to reach company and project goals, upskilling employees to ensure successful implementation and consistency, constantly seeking areas for improvement
  • Visiting sites and engaging with site teams, leading by example to create a positive safety culture with strong relationships
  • Engaging with the clients and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a similar role ideally within infrastructure, civil engineering, MECELEC, electrical engineering, construction, or related industries
  • Experience developing and implementing health and safety policies, in line with relevant legislative requirements
  • CertIV in Health and Safety, or equivalent
  • Experience in gap analysis, and ability to provide practical and tangible solutions where required
  • Experience establishing and maintain good working relationship at all levels
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Visio
