Mining operations deal in massive scale operational problems. They 'lift and shift' millions of tonnes of material and consume hundreds of millions of dollars per year in operating expenses. A 1% improvement across load and haul fleets can add literally millions to their bottom lines. We target untapped data not readily available on the big yellow trucks, apply creative and innovated analysis to this data and then feed it back into operations to help people on site have a greater impact through better operational decisions.

About You

You're a frontend engineer who gets excited about building data-rich interfaces that make complex information intuitive for users. You understand that great frontend development isn't just about React components - it's about understanding the full data journey from backend to user actions. You're comfortable taking ownership of systems, learning proprietary technologies, and becoming the go-to expert for critical parts of our product.

• Experience with state management (Redux preferred)
• Understanding of full-stack architecture and RESTful/GraphQL APIs
• Comfortable with data visualisation and reporting interfaces
• Self-directed learner who enjoys mastering new technologies
• Clear communicator who can work across technical and operational teams
• Excited by the challenge of industrial IoT and real-time data systems, making an impact in the real world

Some of the things you will do

You'll join our Product Engineering team as our frontend technical lead, working closely with our platform teams to deliver powerful user experiences across web applications, industrial touchscreens, and reporting dashboards.

• Own and evolve our React-based frontend architecture across multiple products
• Build and maintain data-heavy reporting interfaces and visualization components
• Develop touchscreen applications for mining equipment operators
• Lead frontend aspects of new customer deployments and configurations
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and data flow optimization
• Mentor other engineers on frontend best practices
• Take ownership of key systems including our operator interfaces and analytics dashboards

This role is critical to our product's success - you'll be the bridge between our rich data platform and the mine site operators who rely on our insights every day. You'll have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape how we present complex operational data to users with varying technical backgrounds.

• 4+ years of commercial frontend development experience
• Expert-level React skills with demonstrable complex application experience
• Experience with state management patterns and data flow architecture
• Exposure to full-stack development (Node.js, Python experience valued)
• Track record of owning and maintaining production systems
• Comfortable with deployment pipelines and basic DevOps concepts
• Experience with industrial or IoT applications
• React Native or other mobile/touchscreen development
• Experience with data visualisation libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, or similar)
• Experience with real-time data systems

You don't need to know all of the above, but need to be willing and able to learn. There is also scope to bring new technologies to our platform team where they fit within our existing technology and can demonstrate business value.
