Our client is an iconic Australian retailer currently undergoing significant change and transformation. As part of their drive towards a best-in-class supply chain, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior logistics professional in the role of Distribution Centre Operations Manager - Afternoon Shift.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the National Distribution Centre Manager and leading a large team, the Distribution Centre Operations Manager - Afternoon Shift is responsible for overseeing the operational, safety, and commercial performance of a large, high-volume, omni-channel distribution centre. Your focus will be on driving operational efficiency and enhancing customer service levels. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize service levels, inventory targets, and resource planning.
  • Ensuring site standard operating procedures align with broader business strategies related to safety, service, and commercial outcomes.
  • Leading supply chain projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and exploring systems and automation opportunities.
  • Supporting the broader national distribution network through excellent performance in this critical distribution centre.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be a logistics professional with a proven track record in the consumer goods, retail, or 3PL industries. Experience overseeing large single-site or multi-site distribution networks, leading sizable teams, reducing costs, and improving customer service is essential. Ideally, you will hold tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and possess excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
