Senior Designer Womens Footwear role – you will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to create and deliver a customer-centric product range. Identify, interpret and implement global and market trends to grow sales through great looking product, articulated through effective communication (visual and verbal) and a high level of presentation skills. Create original, commercial, customer-focused, coordinated product ranges including print and pattern/graphic design that best reflects Kmart's handwriting to grow incremental sales. This is executed through strong influencing, collaboration, tasteful aesthetics and an eye for trend.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Trend forecasting: identify, interpret and implement trends and colour palettes using global trend and market research to add value through design and sales in line with Kmart's handwriting.
• Visually articulate and effectively communicate the direction for the season to stakeholders and direct reports.
• Present trend forecasts with supporting research.
• Maintain strong aesthetic taste and an eye for the next trend that is commercial and can be produced at volume.
• Ranging: collaborate with and influence the merchandise team to create commercial, customer-focused, coordinated product ranges that reflect Kmart's handwriting.
• Effectively present concepts and ranges to key stakeholders with clarity and results focus.
• Negotiate commercial product outcomes with the Merchandise team.
• Product Development: create desirable and affordable products aligned with Kmart's handwriting, including offshore development with Anko sourcing and Direct design.
• Work autonomously with key stakeholders in merchandise and design/Direct design.
• Develop products within cost structures, create visuals and technical specifications, and deliver samples for on-floor experience.
• Provide effective feedback to enable the design team to deliver on metrics such as print, pattern and product.
• Time management to plan and prioritise workload.

• Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Textiles or Footwear and Accessories Design.
• 5+ years of designing experience in a fast-paced, large-volume retail environment or supplier to DDS.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and CAD; advanced use of GBSS, Cebtric, Office suite.
• Technical skills related to product development with strong fabric, materials and construction knowledge.
• Ability to create accurate technical specification drawings.
• Strong knowledge of print types and limitations; ability to translate concepts into production-ready designs.
• Experience building relationships with key stakeholders; developing leadership qualities and people management experience desired.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; strong influencing and presentation skills.
