Overview

Catholic Healthcare is hiring for a casual Support Associate to assist in the Warnervale Day Centre and in the surrounding community on the North Central Coast. The role is hybrid, with availability required for a minimum of 3 days per week. Pay rate is $34.30 per hour plus casual loading and superannuation. This is a not-for-profit employer.

Responsibilities

Day Centre

  • Welcoming clients on arrival to the day centre
  • Assisting in delivering group activities at the day centre
  • Assisting in meal preparation
  • Engaging with older clients and encouraging participation across a diverse range of activities
  • Personal care including assistance with toileting if required

Community

  • Provide a high standard of care to help clients achieve maximum independence, following individual care plans and client preferences
  • Direct client care including personal hygiene, showering, dressing and toileting; light housekeeping, meals service, mobility; social support including shopping, respite care, and companionship
  • Promptly report changes in client health status and opportunities for wellbeing
To be successful in this role you'll need
  • Genuine passion for providing high-quality care to the elderly
  • Comfort delivering group activities
  • Understanding of clients living with dementia
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable team player
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Experience with dementia (preferred but not essential)
  • Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent
  • Willingness to apply for a Police Check
