APS6 Technical Advisor – Federal Disability Department

12-Month Contract | Perth CBD | Hybrid Work Environment

A major Federal disability department is seeking experienced APS6 Technical Advisor's to join their team on a 12-month contract. In this role, you will provide expert technical advice, support, and guidance on complex participant matters. You'll play a key part in shaping support strategies, managing stakeholder engagement, and contributing to broader planning and policy efforts.

This is a leadership-level team role, with responsibilities including setting priorities, managing team workflows, and making informed decisions aligned with relevant legislation and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and technical advice using a mentoring approach
  • Handle sensitive funding-related conversations and decisions
  • Work closely with stakeholders, partners, and service providers to ensure consistent and effective outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality written and verbal communication and maintain accurate records

Required Qualifications (in One Or More Of The Following)
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Prosthetics and Orthotics
  • Speech Pathology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Psychology
  • Nursing (AHPRA eligible)
  • Social Work
  • Mental Health Practice
  • Behavioural Support
  • Medico-Legal Allied Health

Desirable
  • Experience in disability, hospital, or aged care settings
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated clinical experience

Australian citizenship is required to be considered.
