  What you will do as the IT Security Advisor
  
  Role
  
  The IT Security Advisor is part of a small, high-performing team of security professionals within the Information Management & Technology Services (IMTS) Branch. In this role, you will:
  • Support the strategic and operational security posture of the ACCC, in line with the PSPF, ISM, and Essential Eight.
  • Conduct security assessments of systems, products, and services to ensure compliance with government standards.
  • Monitor and respond to security events and incidents, including coordinating investigations.
  • Provide expert security advice to project teams, business units, and senior executives.
  • Lead and support security uplift initiatives and projects aligned with the ISM and Essential Eight maturity model.
    
    
  About You
  
  In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
  • Demonstrated expertise in ICT security including risk management, security assessments, incident response, and the implementation of security controls in line with the ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop practical, risk-based solutions.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior executives.
  • Experience in delivering security uplift projects and initiatives that improve organisational security maturity and resilience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, showing initiative, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
