Senior Cloud Engineer

Overview

Kinetic IT is seeking a skilled and versatile Senior Cloud Engineer to join our high-performing on-site team supporting a Federal Government customer. You will play a key role in managing and integrating hybrid infrastructure environments – spanning on-premises systems, AVS (Azure VMware Solution), and Azure native services. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major transformation journey, supporting cloud adoption and modern workplace environments (including Exchange Online and Microsoft 365). This role offers the chance to make a tangible impact within a federal government environment, while developing your cloud and modern workplace skills alongside a team of experienced professionals at Kinetic IT

Responsibilities

• Provide expert Level 3 support across Windows Server and cloud platforms.
• Administer and maintain hybrid infrastructure: on-prem, AVS, and Azure-native.
• Integrate services with third-party providers including WAN and secure internet gateways (e.g. Verizon).
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across SIAM-aligned processes (incident, change, and problem management).
• Partner with the service desk and desktop teams to support a modern M365 environment.
• Support infrastructure transformation aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and hub-and-spoke topologies.
• Contribute to application services management and virtual server optimisation.

What you'll bring to the table

You're an experienced Systems Engineer who thrives in complex, hybrid environments. You're confident with cloud technologies and system integration, and you understand the expectations of working with government clients in secure, high-stakes environments.

• Extensive experience with Windows Server 2016–2022
• Strong hands-on expertise in the Azure Cloud Platform
• Proficiency with VMware environments
• Knowledge of Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
• Azure networking and hub-and-spoke topology
• Virtual server management and application services
• Familiarity with the Cloud Adoption Framework
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Power Automate
• Certifications: MS900, MS102, AZ900, AZ104
• NV1 Security Clearance - as you will be supporting a Federal Government customer
