Business Development Manager - Entry Level

The primary goal of the Business Development Manager is to drive revenue growth and the adoption of Australia's best value accounting software SAAS solution, Reckon One. Success as a Reckon Business Development Manager is achieved by driving product adoption, performing software demonstrations, account management, prospecting, and owning the end-to-end sales process. The Business Development Manager role will operate across a wide range of channels (face to face & online) and work primarily with Reckon's extensive Accounting and Bookkeeper partner base to effectively distribute Reckon products throughout their client base.

This is an entry level role and full training will be provided for the right candidate. This role presents the opportunity to progress to a Senior Business Development Manager, and progress will be reviewed regularly.

Responsibilities

  • New Business – Achieve new business sales targets in line with company strategy and agreed KPI's.
  • Account Growth – Grow and retain existing and new reseller accounts in line with company strategy and agreed KPI's.
  • Account Management – Develop communication plans to ensure existing accounts are engaged with on a regular basis.
  • Churn Management – Reduce churn risk through an effective product adoption strategy and proactively follow up with churned clients to understand reasons for deactivating Reckon software.
  • Teamwork – Work with the Customer Success team with the implementation process to ensure that Reckon is configured correctly within the business operation.
  • Ensure that sales and reporting processes are up to date and enhanced on a regular basis.
  • Represent Reckon by attending and delivering presentations and workshops at industry related trade shows and conferences around Australia and New Zealand.
  • Represent Reckon by presenting webinars and product demonstrations.
  • Gather customer feedback and regularly liaise with the product development team to ensure continual product improvement.
  • Being a customer advocate - representing customers in the context of the company's vision.
  • Upselling - identifying opportunities for account growth and/or offering additional services that will lead to an increase in sales revenue.
  • Firefighting - dealing with customer complaints and finding the best solution.
  • Consult with Reckon leadership on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Submit weekly and monthly account and activity reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Knowledge of Accounting Software is an advantage.
  • Experience working as an Accountant or Bookkeeper.
  • Experience in B2B technology sales.
  • Experience in channel sales.
  • Experience in the accounting or bookkeeping industries.
