Lead strategic Advisory at the heart of Queensland's financial future

QTC is seeking a dynamic and visionary Managing Director to lead its Advisory Division, delivering high-impact financial and commercial advice that shapes Queensland's economic future.

Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you'll lead a team of experts providing strategic advisory services, funding and investment analysis, and evidence-based research to government and key stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Lead with purpose: Drive the design and delivery of QTC's advisory service streams
  • Influence outcomes: Partner with clients to support major initiatives and optimise whole-of-state financial outcomes.
  • Build trust: Represent QTC as a trusted advisor across government and industry.
  • Drive performance: Ensure services align with strategic priorities, risk appetite, and governance frameworks.
  • Shape strategy: Contribute to corporate planning, culture, and enterprise leadership.

What You'll Bring

You're a seasoned executive with deep experience in strategic advisory, public policy, and financial leadership. You offer:
  • Proven success in delivering high-value advisory services to government or large organisations.
  • Strong understanding of public administration, economic policy, and investment analysis.
  • Strategic foresight and commercial acumen.
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement and influencing at senior levels.
  • Experience leading large, high-performing teams and presenting to Boards.
  • A collaborative, enterprise-wide leadership style

QTC is the central financing authority for the Queensland Government and provides financial resources and services for the State. We manage the State's funding program in the global capital markets to deliver sustainable and cost-effective borrowings for the Queensland Government, local governments, and other related entities (our clients).

With a statutory role to advance the financial interests and development of the State, we help to deliver innovative, long-term solutions that contribute to the growth of Queensland's economy. We protect Queensland's financial interests and deliver better financial outcomes by centralising the management of our clients' borrowings, cash investments, and foreign exchange.

Within QTC, the Advisory Division provides a range of financial and risk management services to help State Government, Local Governments, Government Owned Corporations, education institutions, and statutory authorities to make well-informed decisions about the services, initiatives, policies, and projects they deliver. The common purpose being to improve the social and economic well-being of Queenslanders and the financial sustainability of the State.Seniority level
