Our client, an independent statutory agency of the Australian Government is seeking an EL1 Assistant Director, Finance. This is an opportunity to join a complex, challenging and rewarding program environment.
About the role
The Assistant Director, Finance supports strategic delivery across a transformation program, overseeing budget operations, producing high-quality financial reporting, advising senior leaders, and engaging stakeholders to develop frameworks and guide decision-making in dynamic settings.
Duties
- Support the Finance Lead and Program Support Director in managing financial services for the program.
- Oversee budgeting and financial reporting tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and documentation for various audiences.
- Provide strategic advice and represent the team in key discussions.
- Assist in developing financial policies and processes in a fast-paced setting
- Proven experience in financial management and reporting
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to prepare high-quality written materials for diverse audiences
- Skilled in strategic analysis and policy development
- Sound judgement in fast-paced and complex environments
