Position: Program Manager

Full-time, 1-year contract - primarily onsite

If so, this role at Cicada Innovations might be for you We are seeking a Program Manager for Jumar Bioincubator in Melbourne. This incubator supports early-stage biotech startups as they develop scientific discoveries into treatments impacting global health.

Jumar was founded by CSL, WEHI, and the University of Melbourne, funded by Breakthrough Victoria, and operated by Cicada Innovations. Located within CSL's headquarters in the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, it offers world-class education programs supporting bio and medtech ventures from concept to scale.

As Program Manager, you will support biotech and medtech ventures with training and education to aid their commercialization and product development. Your role includes managing the delivery of all programs, connecting entrepreneurs with experts, and training future residents of Jumar.

You will:

  1. Manage all programs end-to-end, ensuring high-quality design, content, and execution, with support from our events & community team.
  2. Build and maintain relationships with residents, founders, researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders to help them achieve their goals.
  3. Use feedback to improve program content and delivery, maximizing impact for biotech ventures.
  4. Prepare impact reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  5. Monitor program cash flow and facilitate expenditure approval.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders to strengthen Jumar's ecosystem role.
  7. Support business development opportunities as needed.

About you:

  • You understand the life sciences industry, with experience in biotech, pharma, or medical devices, and some commercial experience.
  • You have 5+ years in program management, with strong relationship and project management skills.
  • You understand health/bio tech commercialization pathways.
  • You have experience in entrepreneurial ecosystems and understand challenges faced by health-tech startups.
  • You are highly organized, data-driven, and familiar with CRM systems and software like Google Suite and Monday.com.
  • You are meticulous, proactive, and a problem solver.
  • You are a people person, interested in participant needs and program success.
  • You are a networker, self-motivated, approachable, and aligned with a purpose-led organization.

Additional details:

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract. Flexibility is offered, but onsite presence of 3-4 days per week at Jumar is required.
