This role will see you enhance your capabilities and the reputation of WSP's QLD Mining Engineering team. You will collaborate with talented professionals working on iconic projects to drive future-ready outcomes that will benefit clients and communities. Mining

Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals supports the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the green transition. Working collaboratively across borders and disciplines, you'll join a leading team working on interesting and complex projects. We are experts in our field and passionate about mining.

What you'll do:
  1. Lead the end-to-end development of control systems, from concept through commissioning, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards.
  2. Architect and program PLC and SCADA systems, focusing on Rockwell and Schneider platforms.
  3. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and process engineers to integrate control systems into broader projects.
  4. Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability and performance.
  5. Develop and maintain design documentation, including specifications, control philosophies, I/O lists, network architectures, and FAT/SAT procedures.
  6. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
About You

We seek someone with excellent problem-solving, communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Your background should ideally include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  2. 5–8 years of professional experience in control systems engineering, preferably in automation or infrastructure projects.
  3. Proficiency in Rockwell (RSLogix/Studio 5000) and Schneider (Unity Pro/EcoStruxure) PLC platforms.
  4. Experience with SCADA systems like Citect, FactoryTalk View, or Wonderware.
  5. Ability to produce clear, structured documentation for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  6. Understanding of OT network design, protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus), and cybersecurity.
  7. Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 standards and structured programming.
