Purpose Of Role

The Body Shop Australia's small but mighty Finance team is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a hands-on position suited to a technically strong and detail-oriented accountant who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll bring a proactive approach to continuous improvement and enjoy contributing to the broader success of a collaborative, entrepreneurial team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process month-end journals within tight deadlines
  • Review and analyse monthly financial results, identifying key variances
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and commentary to internal stakeholders
  • Analyse cost centre performance and support cost control initiatives
  • Support daily and monthly bank reconciliation processes
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and ensure depreciation accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in the delivery of system improvements and finance process enhancements
  • Contribute to the annual audit, including liaison with auditors
  • Deliver ad hoc analysis and provide ongoing support to the Finance Manager

You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional with a strong technical foundation and a collaborative mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and are comfortable balancing operational responsibilities with strategic initiatives. Your ability to build relationships across the business and act with integrity makes you a trusted partner within the organization. You have a growth mindset and enjoy being part of change, particularly when it comes to adopting and refining new systems. We are currently in the process of migrating from SAP S/4HANA to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, so adaptability and a proactive approach to continuous improvement will be key.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree-qualified in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Big 4 or mid-tier audit background with subsequent commercial experience in retail is highly regarded
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Organised, detail-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or SAP S/4HANA is an advantage

  • Base salary + super + bonus potential
  • Hybrid working: 3 days at the Australian Support Office in Chadstone on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday with remaining days WFH
