Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Unit Manager, you will lead the Assembly department with overall financial, operational and compliance accountability. This role is to ensure that all Assembly operations are executed in an effective and efficient manner, under the strictest of hygiene conditions to the agreed customer quality standard.
  • Oversee Assembly functions across (Wash & Pack, Pick & Pack and Make & Pack) including financial and operational performance. Accountable for budget and support the GM in the analysis of the monthly financial statements.
  • Direct and monitor all production activities to maximise the use of the organisation's resources and meets established production specifications and schedules, volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards.
  • Continuous optimization of operational processes to achieve our goals.
  • Ensures legal/compliance requirements across health and safety, food safety, and security.
  • Guarantee of the quality agreed for the unit performance index.
  • Formulate and assist in the development and implementation of corrective measures in case of negative development in results/KPI of the unit.
  • Staff management and planning and control of man-hours used in the Operational departments.
About you / Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast-paced unionized environment.
  • Experience with the food industry preferred, airline catering or similar will be an advantage.
  • Operations management experience with demonstrable leadership & management initiatives.
  • Experience with process improvement and change management.
  • Experience working in a Food Hygiene/Health & Safety/High Security environment.
  • Degree educated preferred and/or relevant equivalent work experience at similar level.
  • Desirable specialisation/qualifications in Operations, Logistics incorporating people management.
  • Ability to think critically, adapt in a dynamic environment, and remain highly organised.
