Summary

Role: Project Officer

Location: Lot Fourteen, Adelaide CBD

Salary Expectations: $65,000 – $72,000 (Package)

Broad Duties

As the Project Officer at the Andy Thomas Space Foundation, and working under the guidance of the Executive Officer, you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Foundation's education and outreach initiatives. This includes providing high-level administrative support and contributing to the coordination of key events—most notably, the flagship Australian Space Forum.

In this role, you are expected to actively promote and uphold the Foundation's culture of wellbeing, respect, and collaboration. Above all, you are entrusted to act with integrity and professionalism, consistently serving the best interests of the Foundation and its mission to inspire and educate through space.

Specific Responsibilities

Education Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the delivery of current and new Education Fund Programs.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders, inclusive of schools, educators, community groups and program partners to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of program participation, feedback, and reporting metrics.
  • Ensuring the education activities are shared through various media forums – including social media, newsletters, blogs and other communications.
  • Respond to public inquiries and provide information about educational offerings.

Administration Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with meetings, travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Taking minutes and records of actions for Foundation meetings.
  • Assisting with processing invoices, claims and related financial transactions.
  • Assisting with sponsor, corporate and private donor updates and feedback.
  • Supporting office and other administrative activities as required.
  • Event support, inclusive of the Australian Space Forum.

  • A high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to comply with working with children requirements across Australia.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and other online applications.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously.
  • Familiarity with space industry developments and technologies.
  • Experience in event coordination or program administration.
  • An ability to always adhere to the Foundation's wellbeing and cultural values.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and STEM education frameworks.
  • Experience in the delivery of education programs.
  • A demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in the workplace.
  • Cyber threat awareness.
  • Graphic Design.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar/related support role is desirable.
  • Open to recent graduates and early career professionals.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness to travel locally, interstate and to remote locations in support of Foundation programs.
  • Drivers licence.

Further Information

  • One year initial contract with scope for extension.
