About the opportunity

Westgold Resources are on the lookout for a dedicated and people driven Senior People Advisor to provide advisory support through HR activities to business units and act as the primary point of contact for employees with People queries or issues for allocated departments. This role will be offered on a permanent 8 days on, 6 days off roster and will be located at Westgold's Beta Hunt Operations.

The role includes

• Support the understanding and application of people processes, including performance management, employee engagement, learning development and coaching
• Facilitate employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary outcomes and actions
• Review and revise HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local regulations and address current and future business needs
• Deliver cyclical people related activities and initiatives including market and performance-based remuneration reviews, salary reviews and provide recommendations consistent with internal strategy
• Collaborate with the broader team to ensure alignment with corporate and divisional HR practices and priorities
• Interprets and advises on relevant Awards, Industrial Agreements, legislation, policies and procedures
• Ensure activity relating to IR/ER management activity is accurately documented and tracked to contribute to reporting and analytics
• Support Injury Management Coordinator for Workers Compensation claims, Non-Work-related illness and injury, redeployment of personnel, fitness for work and return to work activities
• Engage in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, researching solutions and implementing changes

What do I need?

• Degree level qualifications in Human Resources, employment relations, organisational development and/or business
• 3+ years' experience in a HR role (mining/resources experience preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across all levels
• Ability to coach and educate leaders and employees on employment legislation and other legislative observations
• Good level of knowledge and understanding of employment and industrial relations, legislation and regulations
