About the Role

You will be based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation's most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated social worker to join the Social Work Department at RPAH. This permanent full-time senior position is located within our Critical Care Team and primarily works in our Intensive Care Unit. The team also covers the respiratory, trauma, cardiology cardiothoracic, vascular, stroke and neurology clinical areas. You will be part of a large, dedicated and highly skilled department working with culturally and socially diverse patients and their families. The position is also required to provide support to other areas within the hospital as required, and applicants are advised that at times the position involves working with vulnerable people and people experiencing trauma. Applicants are also advised that this position includes ongoing participation in the after-hours on call crisis service, including weekends.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, with Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
• Advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of social work, with experience at Level 2 or higher.
• Ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as per of a multidisciplinary team.
