About The Opportunity

Join our dedicated Social Work team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and carers. In this role, you'll provide high-quality psychosocial assessment, counselling, advocacy, and information, working closely with health and community services to ensure seamless, consumer-centred care.

What You'll Be Doing

To provide Social Work services to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

Where You'll Be Working

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital.   • Demonstrated experience in a health related field and ability to provide a range of Social Work interventions
  • Demonstrated experience prioritising work and managing stressful situations
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills (written and verbal) and computer skills.
  • Evidence of commitment to clinical supervision and professional learning.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to quality processes, and the application of evidenced based practice within social work.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills in psychosocial aspects of heath, illness, injury and recovery.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
