Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior IT Specialist to join our growing team. This is a critical role that will support the technology infrastructure across our group of companies, ensuring systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently as we scale.
The ideal candidate is technically strong, proactive, and able to take ownership of IT operations and projects while collaborating with various departments to support business growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure & Support- Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions for clients, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Provide advanced technical support to clients—both onsite and remotely—for hardware, software, and system-related issues.
- Plan, manage, and execute client IT projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, cybersecurity improvements, and infrastructure rollouts.
- Configure and manage Microsoft 365, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, firewalls, and backup systems.
- Monitor client environments using remote management tools (RMM) and proactively address issues or risks.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, including network diagrams, system configurations, and SOPs.
- Apply cybersecurity best practices, including firewall configuration, patch management, endpoint protection, and data recovery planning.
- Mentor and support junior technicians and help build internal knowledge and capability.
- Install, configure, and maintain telecom systems, including VoIP phones, PBX systems, and unified communications platforms.
- Set up and troubleshoot network and data cabling (Cat6, fiber), routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Perform structured cabling for new office setups or renovations, ensuring clean, labeled, and standards-compliant installations.
- Conduct signal testing and diagnostics for voice and data lines, resolving issues efficiently.
- Support the deployment and maintenance of CCTV systems, access control, and other smart building technologies.
- Collaborate with clients to assess telecom needs and recommend cost-effective, scalable solutions.
- Coordinate with third-party vendors and telecom providers for line provisioning, number porting, and network services.
- Serve as a technical advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance on improving their IT and telecom environments.
- Assist in creating technical proposals and solution designs in collaboration with the sales and project teams.
- Ensure all client solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with quality expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration, networking, or similar roles.
- Proficiency with Windows/Linux servers, cloud services (Azure, AWS), and cybersecurity practices.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, Active Directory, Office 365, and backup solutions.
- Experience managing IT projects and infrastructure for multi-unit or multi-industry businesses is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA, Microsoft, CISSP) are a strong advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
