Overview

Blue Ocean Equities is looking to hire an experienced corporate associate with ECM history to join our successful and growing Industrial corporate finance team. Working closely with the Industrial Corporate Director, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Corporate Advisory professional to grow their career and work on a range of transactions including secondary market transactions, IPOs, Mergers and Acquisitions, and general due diligence. Primary focus will be analysing and assisting in capital raising mandates with a regular focus on listed and occasional unlisted equity mandates sometimes with related debt structuring and sourcing components. The right candidate will have appropriate tertiary qualifications and at least 3 year\'s experience in a directly relevant or closely associated field. Our firm is a mid-sized dynamic operation which will be attractive to candidates prepared to back themselves in order to receive remuneration partially dependent on successfully completed transactions by our team. Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis of financial information, contributing to the content of reports and advice documents;
  • Conduct market research;
  • Preparation and/or review of business/financial models;
  • Assist and prepare business proposals;
  • Conduct initial drafting of documents or sections as appropriate; and
  • Provide advice to clients through written reports which are clear and concise.
Basic Qualifications
  • Strong financial analytical capabilities, modelling and verbal and written communication skills.
  • At least 3 years of corporate finance or ECM experience required (whether at an intermediary or previously at a corporate or Corporate Advisory).
  • A proven ability to think commercially about the needs of the client.
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members.
  • Candidate must have completed an undergraduate degree and be digitally aware.
Requirements
  • Have a minimum of 3 years\' experience in the finance industry, of which at least 2 years\' experience is in ECM or corporate advisory, for example; due diligence, valuation and IERs, financial modelling and buy or sell side advisory;
  • Have completed a post graduate qualification;
  • Have a strong understanding of technical issues such as changes to legislation, valuations and accounting standards;
  • Be technology savvy, with experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Remuneration

The remuneration package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's background and experience with a view towards that person having above industry leverage dependent upon successful outcomes of our transactions.
