Associate Geochemist

Associate Geochemist - R264 - Various locations at EMM Consulting Pty Limited. This role offers hybrid working options and may be based in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, or Perth.

• You'll provide technical support and leadership on environmental assessment and environmental management projects across Australia and in Canada, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues to communicate high-quality outcomes that make a difference.
• Apply your geochemistry expertise across key markets including mining, renewables and large infrastructure, with a global delivery model that enables international impact.

• Post-secondary (B.Sc. or higher) degree in chemistry, geology or environmental/earth science, with a background in geochemistry, hydrogeochemistry, analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, mining engineering or similar.
• Proven technical expertise in geochemistry/hydrogeochemistry and understanding of regulatory requirements in Australia, geochemical risks during construction, operation, and closure across mining and renewables projects.
• Experience in geochemical and water quality modelling; proficiency with GoldSim, Geochemist Workbench, PHREEQC, or Excel/VBA; desire to further develop these skills.
• Interest in mentoring early career specialists and providing training and guidance on projects.
• Interest in client liaison and project management, and ability to work to deadlines and budgets.
• Track record of producing high-quality technical reports and communicating complex results to non-technical audiences.
