About The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Support Worker with experience and training in using aids to assist our clients, and a high level of understanding around manual handling to join our team as a casual or on a 60hr PPT contract. This role offers daily challenges and the chance to truly impact the lives of people living with disabilities.
As a Support Worker in our Accommodation Services, you will provide essential assistance to our high-needs clients, aiding with personal care and daily tasks. You will support clients who use wheelchairs and have additional medical needs, ensuring they receive the necessary care.
Our team promotes autonomy and supports residents around the clock, fostering independence within a shared living environment. Your role will involve handling complex situations with empathy and composure, making a meaningful impact on others.
About You
- Confident in engaging with clients effectively, building positive relationships, and supporting their unique needs.
- Resilient and self-assured, able to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Skilled in prioritizing tasks and demonstrating problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Holder of a valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Full COVID vaccination status
- Experience with high-needs Disability clients
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable)
- Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable)
- Schad's Award Level 2 pay rates based on qualifications and/or experience.
- Salary Packaging Options including an Entertainment/Meal Card, allowing you to use up to $2,650 of your pre-tax income per year (if eligible).
