Base pay range

A$85,000.00/yr - A$86,000.00/yr

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia\'s future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer to join our team based in Canberra.

What You\'ll Do

  • Work with a collaborative team to provide administrative support where required.
  • Creating and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Assist with processing travel claims, generating proposals and contracts.
  • Setting up supplier account profiles.
  • Managing timesheet inquiries and account administration.
  • Preparing and managing invoices for clients and payments for suppliers.

What You\'ll Bring

  • A proactive and positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience in administration or a similar role (preferred but not essential—we\'re open to training the right candidate)
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
  • In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be an inherent requirement.
