Overview

Location: Shellharbour (Flexible Work Practices negotiable). Status: Temporary Part-time; 32 hours per week (Until April 2026). Classification: Health Services Manager (HSM level 3).

The Role

The role is for a senior and experienced Project & Codesign Officer. It is preferred that the incumbent reside in the Shellharbour area and support the planning of the hub, including the service model, and ensure the use of codesign initiatives that engage the Shellharbour community. You will work closely with diverse key stakeholders to ensure community voices are central to the design of the hub. The role requires strong project management skills, the ability to work independently, and a passion for inclusive community engagement and cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead co-design processes in community or social service settings.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and evaluation.
  • Engage with people from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Collaborate with local government and community-based organisations.
  • Support development and implementation of the service model for the hub with a focus on community voices and inclusion.
  • Utilise Microsoft Office applications and be capable of learning new applications as needed.
Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience leading co-design processes in community or social service settings.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to culturally safe and inclusive practices.
  • Ability to engage respectfully with diverse communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Understanding of the Shellharbour community and key Child and Family stakeholders; ability to work independently and as part of a team and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working with local government and community-based organisations.
  • High level computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to learn new applications.
  • Understanding of Business Transformation and how to move from current to future-state operations.
Conditions of Employment
  • Temporary part-time position in accordance with NSW Health-Employees Agreement.
  • Karitane services are provided at multiple sites within the Sydney Metropolitan and Regional NSW areas.
  • Many Karitane services close for approximately two weeks over Christmas/New Year; leave is required during this period.
