Working at CQUniversity

The Digital Services Directorate drives the planning, development, support and continuous improvement of CQUniversity's data management systems. As part of this team, you will help ensure data is secure, high-quality and accessible, supporting informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

In this role, you will contribute to the University's Retention Equity Program through data investigation, analysis, reporting and insight generation. Working with the new Data Platform Operations Management team, you will assess data accuracy, completeness and value to inform the delivery of data-driven projects, dashboards and systems. Your work will help advance real-time intelligence, AI-supported analysis, data literacy and data science across the University.

We are seeking a proactive, detail-focused professional with experience in data analysis or a related role, along with a passion for uncovering insights and championing data-driven transformation. You will be working with the latest technology in the Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Synapse Analytics) and the Microsoft Fabric data platform, so knowledge and experience is these platforms is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work confidently with technical teams, business users and senior stakeholders are key.

Position Requirements

Essential

  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques, including basic statistics and principles for effective data visualisation.
  • Experience working with complex datasets including experience with data transformation and data manipulation methods.
  • Demonstrated passion for finding and solving problems and building a 'data driven' business culture.

Desirable

  • Experience in AI based exploration of data.
