Overview

About TBH At TBH, we dream of transforming communities and improving lives, by providing innovative solutions to our clients most complex problems. We're one of Australia's largest privately owned, independent consultancy with an international footprint, and have been specialising in high-risk, large-scale and challenging projects since 1965. As leaders in our field and trusted advisors, we have provided specialist project management services to the public and private sectors on over 8,000 landmark projects across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. TBH has been growing rapidly in Australia and internationally, but continues to be a connected, collaborative and supportive team. We have set our strategy looking ahead to 2030, to ensure we continue to meet the needs of clients and set ourselves up as a business for the future.

About the Opportunity: As our Consultant – Cost & Claims, based in Melbourne, you'll play a key role in supporting TBH's delivery of expert cost management and quantity surveying services across complex infrastructure, construction, and engineering projects. Working closely with senior consultants and industry specialists, you'll contribute to a broad range of services, from cost planning and procurement to contract administration and claims analysis. You'll be involved in preparing detailed estimates, supporting cost reporting, validating progress claims, and assisting in the development of commercial submissions. This role also offers the opportunity to build capability in the claims and disputes space, where you'll support the analysis of project variations, cost of delays, and time-related claims. Working across both live projects and retrospective reviews, you'll develop a strong understanding of contractual frameworks and cost drivers across sectors such as buildings, infrastructure, and heavy civils. From day one, you'll be embedded in project teams, contributing directly to client deliverables while sharpening your technical, analytical, and stakeholder management skills. You'll gain exposure to the commercial realities of major projects, with the chance to work on both live delivery and forensic analysis, building a strong foundation in cost management and insight into the drivers of complex claims.

  • Assisting with final account preparation and post-construction reconciliations, including life cycle costing and cost close-out documentation
  • Preparing procurement-related documentation, including tender schedules, pricing templates and evaluation frameworks, and assisting in tender reviews and contractor selection processes
  • Supporting the preparation of expert reports by analysing project data, compiling evidence, and drafting clear, well-structured content for use in commercial advisory and claims contexts
  • Assisting in the assessment of project delays and cost impacts, working with senior consultants to analyse time and cost data for use in variation claims and dispute resolution
  • Providing technical input on cost and contract-related clauses, and supporting advice to clients on risk mitigation, procurement strategies, and commercial terms
  • Collaborating closely with senior team members to develop and deliver high-quality, client-facing outputs across active projects and retrospective assignments
  • Building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across infrastructure, building, and heavy civils sectors, ensuring accurate communication and alignment across teams
