About the role

Are you passionate about delivering quality and meaningful communications to the community? Want to be surrounded by a fun and forward-thinking Communications and Engagement Team? An exciting opportunity has opened up at the City of Canada Bay for a Communications Coordinator to provide strategic media liaison and develop successful communication plans. In this role you will provide a range of high-quality written, social, video and other communications to support projects, operations and Council strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Write media releases and create other communication materials including newsletter content, social media posts, and printed collateral. This also involves pitching to media and coordinating media opportunities
  • Plan and deliver a range of internal communications to support organisational objectives and employee engagement; and
  • Plan and implement high-quality communication activities and plans for Council projects that enhance Council's corporate brand
Qualifications
  • Degree qualifications (or similar) in communications, journalism, or marketing
  • Minimum of three to four years' experience in a similar role, including experience in planning and implementing strategic communications plans and dealing with media
  • Strong writing and copy-editing skills and experience using a range of social media platforms
  • Experience partnering with internal stakeholders and managing multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
  • A current Driver's Licence is required
  • An understanding of online communication and website management, as well as a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and InDesign are highly desirable
