Head of Finance - Growth-Stage Tech Lending

Location:

A high-growth global alternative lender is expanding its footprint across Australia. Offering non-dilutive capital solutions to early and growth-stage technology companies. With over $500M deployed across more than 1,100 financing rounds, the business has supported 500+ startups through revenue-based and term loan products designed to help founders scale without giving up equity.

Backed by leading global institutional investors and the company is entering a new phase of growth and is now hiring a senior/head of finance join the executive leadership team in Sydney or Melbourne.

The Opportunity

As CFO, you will work closely with the CEO and COO to drive financial strategy and lead operational execution across a multi-entity structure spanning the US, Australia, and Canada. You will oversee all aspects of accounting, fund operations, investor reporting, and financial compliance.

This is a strategic, commercial role. You will play a key part in evaluating capital allocation, shaping funding structures, managing external relationships, and supporting long-term growth initiatives.

Your leadership will directly influence high-level planning, board engagement, and interactions with institutional investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting across operating entities, SPVs, and lending vehicles in the US and Australia
• Manage external service providers — including accountants, fund administrators, and legal advisors
• Support capital planning, board-level decision-making, and corporate growth strategies
• Engage with institutional investors, lead due diligence processes, and oversee reporting
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across multiple jurisdictions (ASIC, AUSTRAC, US state regulators)
• Drive internal financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis
• Manage Payroll / FPA duties.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on capital deployment and shareholder value creation

What We're Looking For

• A proven finance leader — either stepping into their first CFO role or bringing a proven track record in a senior finance capacity.
• Background in lending, private credit, venture debt, or broader financial services is also acceptable.
• Strong commercial instincts and the ability to represent the business to institutional investors
• Experience managing external advisors and negotiating service agreements
• Based in Sydney or Melbourne
