Overview

Join to apply for the Future Giving Coordinator role at Beaumont People.

The Garvan Institute of Medical Research is one of Australia's premier medical research institutes, whose mission is to make discoveries that will improve health for all. The fundraising and marketing arm of the Institute, the Garvan Research Foundation raises awareness and vital funds from individuals, trusts and foundations and corporate and community groups. Their philanthropic income has grown to $57 million in 2024 — approximately half of the Institute's total income. The remarkable success of fundraising activities is having a real impact on our researchers' ability to make scientific contributions that will ultimately lead to earlier diagnosis, better treatments and prevention or cure of a range of diseases.

About The Role

Working within the Future Giving Team, the Future Giving Coordinator will provide exceptional supporter care to donors engaged with Garvan's Gifts in Wills and mid-value donor programs. Reporting to the Future Giving Manager, this role is all about meaningful connection — listening deeply, communicating clearly, and walking alongside donors as they consider their philanthropic legacy. You'll thrive in a role where administration meets heartfelt impact, and each interaction helps build enduring relationships that support vital medical research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised, high-level care to supporters via phone, email, and mail — every conversation is a relationship-building opportunity.
  • Assist in managing the Partners for the Future bequest program — sending information packs, birthday cards, thank you notes, and follow-ups.
  • Maintain accurate donor records in the CRM and support seamless data entry, list preparation, and mail merges.
  • Collaborate across internal teams including Supporter Services and Philanthropy to ensure outstanding donor journeys.
  • Support engagement activities like morning teas, personalised tours, and events for current and prospective bequest donors.
  • Contribute to planning, reporting and continuous improvement of donor stewardship initiatives.
About You
  • Experience working in a fundraising, supporter care, or philanthropic team
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Confident using CRMs (Raiser's Edge is a plus) and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — phone calls, emails, and handwritten notes come naturally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit team.
  • High attention to detail and strong time management skills.
  • A calm, can-do attitude and genuine empathy for others.
Why Work at Garvan?
  • Make a real impact by supporting world-class medical research.
  • Be part of a mission-driven and supportive team culture that values innovation, integrity, and bravery.
  • Enjoy flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options (minimum 4 days onsite).
  • Access generous NFP salary packaging and professional development opportunities.
